DOLL DREAM
Multi-media collage over original drawing on paper 22"x 30"

DOLL DREAM - 2 Details

DOLLS

 MODELS

and

I shot the original B+W photographs of the dolls, enlarged them, then used oil paint to add color and details.

The b&w photos of myself were taken by various photographers as "tests." The mixed-media additions were mine.

DOLLS AND MODELS are effigies, passive objects made as whims and to support the designs of
those who manipulate them.
Children project their fantasies onto dolls and bend them to their will.
So do adults.

Models are mannequins...living canvasses for other people's art.

These dependably malleable and motionless figures are charming. But if they become active, with thoughts and
desires of their own... whoa! They can be scary.

OR NO ONE WILL LOVE YOU Collage over b+w photograph

The original 20"x 23" b&w photo was a photo taken of me as a model.

I used it as the base for oil paint and collage, then went to the
computer to get the slick look of a magazine cover.
