ME
Since childhood I have worried about our planet and the way we are polluting and squandering our resources.
My concern grew as learned more of science, and fearful as I observed oblivion in the face of all scientific proof. We are on a self-destructive path.
As an Artist, color and light are my tools... this is my work. I sincerely offer it as my small effort to effect change. We have to find the courage to confront our worst fears so we can begin to fix them..

EARTH ENGORGED 2015 oil painting on canvas 24"x 34"
Created for an Art Students League exhibition in NYC, this painting was shown as a work in progress. It depicts
our planet beleaguered by overindulgence and limited resources. It was my last painting before starting the video,
EARTH AN ANIMATED ALLEGORY, which contains several elements seen in this work.

EARTH: AN ANIMATED ALLEGORY
The images below are frames from a 14-minute, fully animated art video on the subject of Climate Change.
In 8K, vertical format, EARTH: AN ANIMATED ALLEGORY, comprises over 10,000 individual drawings.
The video premiered at the Explorers Club, NYC on Monday June 26, 2023.
It has an original score by award-winning composer, Michael Joseph Shapiro, michaeljosephshapiro.com.
Lead Animator is Melissa Weiland and Erin Cardullo, animator/consultant; together they are The Nerdy Duo.
A designer of projected media for over 20 years, I learned that the essence of Design is in the
transitions as one image moves into another. This is the art of light as a medium, apart from the
overall story/message. When designing for moving images, timings rarely allow for the observation of
subtle changes. Here they are presented so that color and light in dissolve can be appreciated.
Climate Change is also moving slowly. It is difficult to appreciate at human scale. We have to be able to see
and understand impactful processes at their own pace.
